TVMTA Sonatina Competition 2019
Sonatina Competition is open to students of TVMTA members. Entry fees for levels 1-5 are $20 per student; levels 6-10 are $25 per student; levels 11-15 are $30 per student. Non-members may enter students for levels 1-5 $25 per student; levels 6-10 are $30; levels 11-15 are $40 per student. Non-member teachers will also be charged a $20 non-member fee. I made the list with the hope of involving more students and more teachers. The music for the most part is very easy to obtain. The small group of teachers who got together at Irina's house about a month ago decided that we should widen the repertoire to include music other than sonatinas/sonatas. Levels 1, 2, 7, 10, 11 and 12 are not sonatas. There are two pieces for each level, 10-15. This is also a new idea. I selected pieces that are stylistically different for each of these levels. The goal is to engage more students to find pieces that fit their strengths. In levels 5 and 9, I have indicated that students may choose to play either of the two movements listed.
